Selling tips
Monitoring Traffic
It's important to use a traffic monitoring system to track not only how many visitors you have, but how many unique visitors you have and how they move through your website. Learning what makes your popular pages popular and what pages are "exit pages" (where people leave your site from) can help identify the good and bad parts of your website. All of our packages offer some level of visitor tracking and analysis.
Get to the Point
Less is more. Don't get wordy. Make your point and move on.
Use Subtitles, Bold Text and Highlighting
Some website visitors skim the content, especially when there is a lot of it. Use BOLD keywords or highlighting to grab their attention and make sure they read the most important parts. Bold keywords will also help your site rank higher in the search engines, just don't overdo it.
Direct Visitor Paths
By nature, websites make it very easy to link from one page to another. Linking somewhere else every chance you get is is a common mistake new website owners make. If you have a page of content you want your visitors to read, don't give them 50 reasons (links) throughout the text to jump to another page. They'll never finish reading what you want them to read.
Call to Action
One of the keys to making a website sell is a call to action. A call to action could be making a purchase, opting in to a newsletter or simply continuing to the next page.
